The Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra, a college-community orchestra housed at Michigan Technological University, makes a stop at historic Algoma Performing Arts Center during its concert tour of the Upper Midwest. Comprised of Michigan Tech students and faculty, and community musicians from the Keweenaw and Marquette, the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra is the oldest orchestra in the Upper Peninsula. The performance will include Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Festival Overture and Tchaikovsky’s triumphant Fifth Symphony. This is the KSO’s second concert at the Algoma PAC (2015).
